Our airport representative from Adventure Glacier Treks will greet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. We will go on a drive to Chitwan National Park, one of Asia's best-preserved natural habitats for the big one-horned rhinoceros, the Royal Bengal tiger, and several other imperiled mammals, avian species, and aquatic species. Take a quick stroll to the village of the Tharu indigenous people, whose way of life hasn't changed in a century.
We will go out canoeing in the Rapti River after breakfast to observe the avian wildlife. If you're lucky, you could get to witness the Gharial, an endangered type of crocodile. During the 30-minute boat ride, you will stop at an elephant breeding facility, where you may interact with young elephant calves and learn how elephants are captured in the wild, domesticated, and educated to work for humans.
