Highlights

Overview

Since its opening in 2004, the Tamang Heritage Trail has been one of the most popular trekking routes from the Kathmandu Valley. With the added benefit of the rich culture and tradition of the Tamang community, you may learn more about their way of life and history while also taking in the natural beauty of the Langtang Mountain Range in northern Nepal.
The Tamang people originally came to Nepal from the Tibetan region as traders (essentially horse traders) to transport their commodities and products to the Kathmandu Valley, where they lived in the hilly region close to the Valley. With their culture, traditions, and way of life, they kept Tibet's individuality. Sadly, they were the area of the 2015 earthquake that was most badly hit. The main economy is built on the backs of agriculture and tourism. Trekking to the Tamang Heritage Trails will help the local economy as well as provide you with a sense of visual beauty.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Adventure Glacier team member will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. You will meet the trek leader, who will tell you about your trek and what you will need for it. If you need trekking equipment, you can buy or rent it in Thamel

Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

We'll eat breakfast at the hotel before taking a taxi to Machhapokhari, where we'll catch a bus to Syabrubesi. There would be no need to rush because our guide will have your bus ticket ready. We'll take a long trip through Trishuli Bazaar to get to Syabrubesi, which is far from the bustling city of Kathmandu.

Day 3 : Trek to Gatlang from Syabrubesi

We'll go on our first mountain hike. The simple trek from Syabrubesi will take you to Galtlang Village, a historic Tamang settlement. On the trip, you may see Ganesh Himal and many other Himalayan peaks, landscapes, and hills. You can breathe in fresh Himalayan air and see the magnificence of the hills and mountains.

Day 4 : Trek to Tatopani from Gatlang

We start our adventurous journey after breakfast in Gatlang village. The trip will begin with a forest, multiple chortens, mani walls with colorful prayer flags, and Buddhist symbols, and will lead us to Tatopani, a town with a natural hot spring. Tatopani is believed to have the ability to treat both the inner soul and skin problems.

Day 5 : Trek from Tatopani to Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali

Before reaching Thuman, we will pass the historic Tamang villages of Brimdang and Nagthali while hiking through the lush alpine forest. We may enjoy the breathtaking views of Ganesh, Kerung, and Langtang Himal while traveling. The trail is nice to walk on. We're going to spend the night at Thuman.

Day 6 : Trek from Thuman to Bridang Village

We will travel a short distance to Briddim village through Timure (Sedang), the Border Administration Office located close to Rasuwagadhi, Nepal's border with Tibet, which has historically been a route for trade with Tibet. During our stay in Briddim village, we will experience local friendly hospitality.

Day 7 : Trek downhill to Syabrubesi

We'll descend the hills on foot to Syabrubesi. We can arrange for private transportation to take you back to Kathmandu if you need to go to another activity quickly or have a set departure time.

Day 8 : Drive to Kathmandu by Bus

We take the minibus to Kathmandu early in the morning. We will have a farewell meal with our crew in the evening. We'll receive your feedback on the trek and hear about your trek memories.

Day 9 : Departure from Kathmandu

If you are short on time, we will drop you off at the airport. If you want to plan another trip, we can talk about it over coffee.
