Highlights

Overview

Mustang was the last prohibited kingdom in Nepal but in 1992, the upper Mustang has been open to tourists.  Its customs and culture are completely its own.. This region is rich in historical and religious sites and has a unique geography that sets it apart from other regions of Nepal because it is located in the Himalayan rain shadow. Geographically, it is a part of the Tibetan plateau hence, rather than Nepalese culture, it is more like Tibetan culture. The Annapurna Conservation Area includes Mustang. As a result, you can see magnificent views of the mountain ranges, such as Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), and Manaslu, as you go to Upper Mustang (8,163 m).
