One of those extraordinary places, Tibet, offers thrills at every turn! The stunning Trans-Himalayan drive across the mountain passes never lacks in adventure, and it promises an unparalleled array of natural and cultural diversity. The Buddhist monasteries of Drepung, which were once the biggest in the nation and are a genuine treasure trove of architectural marvels, are where it all comes to a head on a parched plateau. The beautiful palaces of the Dalai Lama, the Norbulingka (summer palace), and the Potala, as well as the Jokhang, a spiritual center (traditional seat). It is a transition into another way of life to travel for days on this distant plateau and come across nomads leading their flocks of sheep or yaks.
