The trip from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi is a stunning start to your adventure at Adventure Glacier. As the journey continues via the Langtang River upstream, you have to cross the dense rhododendron, oak and maple forest along with the high suspension bridge and beautiful waterfall. Following the uphill hike, you arrive at the delightful village of Langtang. This village was built with more mesmerizing views and jaw-dropping landscapes after the huge earthquake in 2015. In this village, you can see the unbreakable spirit of the local Tamang people. At Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m), you can witness the ancient Buddhist stupa standing in front of the most amazing snowy mountains, such as Langtang Lirung (7,227m).

This trek is generally considered moderately difficult as you have to hike around 5-6 hours daily at a moderate pace. The Langtang trek is less risky than some other high altitude while still offering the best mind-blowing views, as the maximum altitude you have to trek is 3,870m. The prime seasons for trekking to experience the breathtaking vistas of Langtang are spring (from March to May) and autumn (from September to November). During these seasons, you can fully enjoy nature with blooming rhododendron flowers, crystal-clear mountains, and a refreshing atmosphere.

Trip Itinerary

Your Journey to Langtang commences once you reach one of the first international airports of Nepal - TIA (Tribhuvan International airport). You can reach the TIA (1,400m) in the morning or at day time, our representatives will be waiting for you at the airport. If you arrive early, you can have more time to be ready for the trek, such as purchasing the gear, resting and meeting our guide. We and our representatives will be waiting for you, welcoming you with warm greetings. After that, our driver will transfer us to the standard hotel where you can check-in and take a rest. Sometime later, our guide will present the information regarding the trek and the essential things you need while trekking to Langtang. Do note that your gear and clothes are well-equipped and well-tested. Make sure you have everything you need for the Langtang hike. In the evening, you will come to eat dinner with all the members of ours. In the dinner, you will find the traditional dinner -dal bhat (lentils and rice), green vegetables such as sag (leafy greens), achar (pickles) and finally, dahi (curd). Additionally, there will be music and dance for your entertainment. At night, you will prepare all the things for the journey and sleep.

You will be heading towards Syabrubesi after having breakfast. Set out on a lovely journey to Syabrubesi, a charming settlement that acts as the entryway to the Langtang region. During the journey, you'll witness picturesque countryside villages, meandering rivers, layered agricultural land, and stunning vistas of peaks like Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. While the path may be uneven and difficult at times, it offers a genuine feeling of excitement. After a long drive, you will finally reach Syabrubesi (1,460m). Prior to that, you need to pass through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche to reach Syabrubesi. In this place, you will take a rest, eat dinner and sleep at a local tea house.

This is the day your trekking starts. You will cross the Langtang Khola and Bhote Koshi to reach Lama Hotel. This route goes under the landslide area and then gradually goes uphill to reach the place called Bamboo. The path climbs through forests of bamboo, oak, and vibrant rhododendrons. If you are lucky, you can witness the wildlife animals such as bears, langur monkeys and red pandas. Upon reaching Rimche (2400m), located along the banks of Langtang Khola, you will stop to rest and have lunch. After having lunch, you will continue the hike to reach Lama Hotel (a peaceful village that is surrounded by thick forest).

From Lama Hotel, the trail continues through the lush forest before reaching Gumanechok and Ghoda Tabela (the horse stable). After this, your journey will become a bit more scenic as the trail goes through a peaceful valley dotted with grazing yaks. In this place, you may stop for a tea break while observing the dyaks. While continuing the trek, you will enter the high alpine zone, having occasional views of the highest peak in this region (Langtang Lirung). After that, you will reach the Langtang village, which was built after the earthquake occurred in 2015. This is a peaceful and historic place with stunning views as you get closer to the mountain peaks. Furthermore, you can also observe traditional stone houses, prayer wheels and a jaw-dropping backdrop of Himalayan peaks when you enter the deeper side of Langtang valley.

This day will have the least amount of trekking time, but it will be fulfilling. On this day, you have to hike at the highest point of this journey (3,500m) and can feel a little dizzy. After a few hours of hiking, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa (a quiet Buddhist monastery situated on the mountain). When you reach there and see a 360 view, you will witness many snow-capped mountains, including Langtang Lirung. This place is recognized for its cheese factory, which makes the surroundings look even more fascinating. Kyanjin Gompa is a wonderful junction to trek many other small peaks and explore the valley. You will have enough time to rest, visit the village and go on a short acclimatization hike. At night, you will spend time in the guest house with a delicious dinner.

On this day, you will do the acclimatization hike, as this day is reserved for acclimatization and exploring nearby places. You can deeply explore the cheese factory and monastery. Furthermore, you can hike to the glaciers to witness the breathtaking views of ice faces and calving glaciers on the highest peak of this region (Langtang Lirung ) or further ascend to the kyanjin Ri (4,350m). If you visit these places, it will be unforgettable for you. This day helps you adjust to the altitude, which is helpful for the rest of the journey.

From this day, you will be returning back to the place where you started the journey. You need to return back to Lama Hotel by crossing the Langtang valley, which offers different spectacular views of mountains and landscape and Ghodatabela. While returning back, you will be treated to jaw-dropping views of snow-capped peaks, lush green valleys, and the serene Langtang River flowing below. After hiking for several hours, you'll arrive at the lama hotel, where you'll have dinner and stay overnight.

After watching the mountain for the last time, you will descend to the Syabrubesi through the Lama Hotel. This is where your journey begins. You have to pass the beautiful lush forest of bamboo, oak and rhododendron. While returning back to Syabrubesi, you may hear the bird song or spot the monkey swinging through the trees. After reaching Syabrubesi, you will celebrate completing this moderately difficult trek through one of the most iconic valleys. You can fully enjoy the beauty of the Himalayan region.
