We typically take a local bus or a private vehicle for a 70-minute trip to Sundarijal, the water source for the Kathmandu Valley, to the southeast of Kathmandu, and then hike up through Shivapuri National Park. There are good chances to see several birds, monkeys, wild boar, leopards, and numerous flowers, primarily define, and rhododendron, among others. We will travel through the Mulkharka settlement of Gulbhanjang before arriving at Chisapani for lunch. It will take about 3 to Chisapani from Sundarijal. After lunch, we will be hiking on flat land for about another 3 hours before we get to our lodge for the night at Jhule.
It will take about 3 hours to hike from Chisapani to Nagarkot, where you can walk through the beautiful villages and their flora and fauna. Nagarkot, a stunning hill town at an altitude of 7,133 feet (2100 meters) above sea level, is situated 32 kilometers to the east of Kathmandu. It is a year-round vacation destination with a tree cover rich in greenery. The pines are a really attractive evergreen environment. Depending on the weather, you may see the entire eastern Himalayan range from here, including the Mt. Sagarmatha (Everest) range, the Langtang range, and the Ganesh Himal range. The sunrise and sunset are very special.
We'll walk through lovely villages and pine forests on our way to Changunarayan Temple. Except for one section of gradual downhills and gradual uphills, the walk is sometimes on flat land. The trek from Nagarkot to the Changunarayan temple takes about three hours. Changunarayan Temple is Nepal's oldest Hindu temple. The temple represents Shiva in his Vishnu and Garuda forms. After seeing the temples, drive about 70 minutes back to Kathmandu.
