Trip Itinerary

We leave early on the first day of the trip to drive to Syabrubeshi, the starting location of our hike. Syabrubeshi is also referred to as the trailhead for the Langtang region. The path passes through a traditional village and gorgeous landscape as it winds across the northwest portion of the Kathmandu Valley. While traveling, we would be able to see the breathtaking Himalayan landscape, which included the Langtang, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal ranges. We continue on toward the traditional village of Syabrubeshi after stopping for a quick lunch in Trishuli or Kalikasthan. Spend the night in a Syabrubeshi teahouse.

This is the first walk in the Langtang region of the country. We eat breakfast at the teahouse before starting our trip. Trekking through luscious meadows, our journey takes us to the intriguing Bahun Danda Pass viewpoint, where we can take in views of the charming Gatlang traditional village. After that, we hike past several old Buddhist monasteries, chortens, and mani walls to reach the Goljung valley, where we have lunch. We arrive at Gatlang village while taking in the vistas of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, and other majestic peaks. The charming village of Gatlang is perched on a hillside, with colorful Tibetan decorations and wooden and stone shutters adorned with artwork. Spend the night at the Gatlang village teahouse.

We start our day with a hard descent to Thangbuche, which is close to Chilime village, after eating breakfast at the teahouse. After that, we stop by the Chilime Hydropower Dam and hike up to cross the Chilime River suspension bridge. We eat lunch at Cherka and then gradually ascend to the Gonggang settlement. We arrive at Tatopani village while taking in the breathtaking views of the Langtang mountains and Ganesh Himal. Tatopani, which translates to "hot spring," is known for its therapeutic properties and is believed by the locals to relieve pains and aches after a strenuous walk. Spend the night at the Tatopani teahouse.

We start our day by traveling through the alpine forest and the Tamang settlement of Brimdang after eating breakfast at the teahouse. After that, we go for a few hours uphill to the well-known Nagthali Danda, a popular viewpoint that rises to 3,165 meters and provides a broad perspective of Mt. Langtang Lirung, the Ganesh Himal, Paldor Peak, and other majestic peaks. Additionally, it is a well-liked spot for local priests and monks to meditate. We continue our hike after lunch here, taking in breathtaking views of the mountains and gorgeous scenery as we make our way to the charming village of Thuman. It's a stunning Tamnag village with quaint, traditional homes. Spend the night at the Thuman teahouse.

Following breakfast in the morning, we set out on our journey, via fields and a rhododendron woodland. Our trial goes uphill into Dalphedi village and crosses the Bhote Koshi River. After that, we go uphill to Timure Village, which is located along an old trade route to Tibet. It serves as a historical reminder of the long-standing relationship between Tibet and Nepal. We continue our hike via many mani walls and descend steeply towards the waterfall valley and Lingling town after having lunch at Timure. We keep walking in the direction of the lovely Tamang village of Briddim. Briddim is a Tamang community with Tibetan influences that is well situated in the shadow of Langtang Lirung. You will encounter the friendly, cultural hospitality of the homestay in Briddim. Spend the night in the Briddim communal homestay.

We eat breakfast at the guesthouse today, where we get to taste authentic Nepalese food. Our day begins with a strenuous descent through a pine forest in the direction of Ghopche Khola. After that, we cross the Langtang Khola bridge and climb a difficult trial to reach the town of Rimche. Following lunch, our trial guided us in the direction of the Lama Hotel. If you're lucky, you might spot some of the many species that can be found on the path to the Lama Hotel, including red pandas, Himalayan black bears, snow leopards, and more. Spend the night at the Lama Hotel.

We started our day today at the Lama Hotel with breakfast. Our journey continues as we ascend from the Lama Hotel, taking in the natural splendor of the Langtang region as well as the mountainous terrain. Next, we arrive in Ghore Tabela's verdant fields. We started our hike to see the first sporadic views of Mt. Langtang Lirung and its ranges after eating lunch here. Our path keeps going up the broadening valley, passing by some makeshift Tamang settlements and historic Buddhist monasteries until arriving at the stunning Langtang hamlet, which serves as the Langtang National Park's headquarters. Spend the night at the Langtang village teahouse.

We will begin our trek after breakfast, making our way past little settlements and yak fields as we gradually ascend the hill. After that, we hike through Mundu and Singdum's traditional villages. After that, we'll be strolling past a lot of Yaks grazing in areas, tiny streams and debris, water mills, prayer flags, chortens, and holy rock mounds with inscriptions etched on them. We also go by Nepal's biggest mani wall, which is composed of stone and has prayers and mantras etched on it. The oldest Buddhist monastery in the Langtang Valley is Kyanjin Gompa. Spend the night in the Kyanjin Gompa teahouse.

One of the most important days for the Langtang Circuit Trek is today. We will ascend above Tserko RI after a late breakfast to have a breathtaking 360-degree vista of the Langtang mountains and other impressive peaks. The journey to Tserko RI is arduous and protracted, but once at the summit, one is rewarded with a breathtaking view of the natural world that makes one forget all fatigue and hardships. Then, by late afternoon, we returned to Kyanjin Gompa and strolled around the stunning Buddhist monasteries nearby. We also take a tour of a traditional yak cheese factory, where cheeses are handmade. Spend the night in the Kyanjin Gompa teahouse.

We start our day with a teahouse breakfast before making our way down to the Lama Hotel. Since there isn't another way to get to the Lama Hotel, we continue on the same path that we have already traveled. We spend the majority of the day traveling downhill, via picturesque mountain villages and forests of oak and rhododendron. As we leisurely returned to the Lama Hotel, we took in the breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas. The Langtang River borders the Lama Hotel, where we will spend the night listening to the river roar.

We start our hike with a challenging climb up to Rimche village after eating breakfast at the Lama Hotel. Next, we stroll easily towards Bamboo village by descending to the bank of Langtang Khola. Maintaining the flow of our journey, we will encounter two obstacles that divide the paths to Syabrubeshi and Thulo Syabru hamlet. To get to the Pahare Hotel, we resume our journey from here, passing through stunning, verdant forests, suspension bridges, and waterfalls. We eat a delicious lunch before making our way leisurely to Thuylo Syabru village while taking in the breathtaking scenery of Ganesh Himal. The community is charming, with basic amenities like internet access and phones, as well as lovely lodges. Stay the night in Thulo Syabru's teahouse.

We have breakfast at the teahouse to start the day. After leaving Thulo Syabru settlement, our journey begins to climb upward. Before arriving at Sing Gompa, we will pass the checkpoint and proceed via the traditional villages of Phulung Ghyang, Chandanbari, and Garda village (which are home to the oldest Yak cheese producers in Nepal). We eat lunch at Sing Gompa and then travel to Cholang Pati by way of the lovely rhododendron forest. Spend the night at the Cholang Pati teahouse.

You feel a little more challenging today as the trial moves you closer to the high altitude. Following our teahouse breakfast, we stroll gently through the lovely scenery and take in the breathtaking sweeping views of the Himalayas, which include Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Ganesh Himal, and more. After that, we make a small ascent to arrive in Lauribinayak. Our stroll continues with a stunning vista of Gosainkunda Lake after lunch. We next proceed along toward Goshainkunda Lake via stone cliffs, a small trial, and sporadic brief descents. One of the most important pilgrimages and holy lakes in Nepal for both Buddhists and Hindus is Gosainkunda. Every year, hundreds of Hindu pilgrims travel to Gosainkunda to take a sacred bath on Janai Purnima, which falls in August.

This is an easy trek across Himalayan grassland, above tree line, and somewhat downhill. From the summit of Singumpa, the trail descends more smoothly through the slopes, offering expansive views of the valley below. One of the most significant ancient Buddhist monasteries in this valley is Sing Gumpa. It features an excellent yak cheese factory where you can get your last chance to purchase yak cheese before the next day's trip to Kathmandu.

This might not be an easy downhill today, the hike today is sharp down hills  to Dhunche, Dhunche is the headquarter of this district. Lunch at Dhunche and then driving back to Kathmandu for about 6 hours.
